My truck has set a while. I have drained all gas. Replaced filters and fluids. It idles well, but when you ease down on throttle it bogs. Then when the throttle is on the floor it bogs, gains no rpm. Do I need to remove carb? Or run treatment through gas line? HELP!!!! Please?

Auto's were all EFI till they swopped to carbs in '96 but it was optional on the manual.

I would just spray some carb cleaner in the intake first just in case a few things are sticking from being sat around. Mini's (SU carbs) would get sticky needles if left for a good while. Without hearing the problem it is difficult to diagnose the issue from afar, The other problems could be spark plugs, dizzy, ignition pack, blocked air intake? Can you post a vid?

When I get a chance. Atill learning the site also. Been trying the carb cleaner, it has a snorkel and Inremoved it and the air box and cleaned them. No blockages. Thought about plugs last night.

Give all the electrical bits spark plugs, distributor etc a clean first, dizyt cap could be furred up on the contacts? rotary arm dirty? HT leads breaking down? Is water flowing around the inlet manifold? is the choke working properly?

Need to check all these things one by one so they can be eliminated. You also get a nicely serviced motor too boot Very Happy

Done all that except plugs and cap and rotor. Plus traced the million miles of vacuum hose.

Will probably get spark plugs today. What is a good brand to use for this type of vehicle.

Would not go mad on things like split detonation plugs etc, regular is good enough :-)
