Was quoted £115+ vat for a head gasket set which didn't even come with an inlet manifold. That was £23+ vat more. Needless to say I went non Gen. I now want two exhaust valves too, They're £35 each...good job I don't want 8. Does anyone know of a cheaper source?

Got my HG cheaper but in general there's limited non genuine parts available. I used to work in VW parts and you could probably double the price of their parts and they would still be cheaper than Daihatsu.

try your local motor factors including a motorquip if you have one near you, motorquip are part of the PSA Group that is Citreon and Peugeot and they make spares for loads but don't bother with the batteries from them they are crap.

Managed to get them from Norwich Engine centre @ £12 each so a good 66% saving. Weren't listed under Hijet but were under Fourtrak.
