Re: Introduce your self...
Hi, and another welcome. The S84 is fairly rare (round headlamp) but there are a couple of owners on here. Think it was made from 1986 to 1992 with a 850cc petrol engine but as HJ says, CD would probably indicate a diesel. I think the V after the S84 in the VIN No means Van, but whether the MPV had a different letter there I don't know.

Correction - according to the parts listings on seekpart24.com, the 850 cc engine code is CD. We lives and learns....

Hi Folks,
Just got myself a 2001 1.3 Hijet and have joined the forum to drain it for information as I think I am going to need it to put a few things right with my little van.

Re: Introduce your self...
Hi everyone, I was pointed in this direction today by Matthew (highlyjetted) after bein REALLY pleased he had an alternator for my little girl :-) . A 2000 1.3l MPV in metallic blue.
I have only had her for about 4 weeks but two of them were spent getting her on the road so with only a couple of weeks of driving her I am definately a newbie!! I have loads of questions to ask so any help will be much appreciated and I look forward to meeting everyone :-)

Sorry not been around for a number of days... my wife is seriously disabled, wheelchair bound actually and guess who is her primary carer and she been quite poorly for a week or so.
Anyway thats my problem ... I will post some pics although that won't help you because as I said in my original post ...Quote...
"So started to look for a new challange and a friend had a "Weird" Hijet conversion that he said
"it don't work, if you can get it going? it's yours"
So Hi to the Hijet World...."
Weird and Conversion were the key words.. it's a real "Beast".....like no Hijet ever seen on here... will put some pix up soon, actually I think I'll start a new thread on it rather that clog this one up..
Great can you scan and e-mail for me please?HighlyJetted wrote:In that case I've got all the vacuum diagrams for that!

All you've got to do is compare the pictures to which looks like yours, then see if it works!!
That is unless you can read japanese
Some say ATM at the top which I think means Automatic TransMission but I guess yours is a manual so it's more likely to be a MTM/MT one
Maybe use the distributor to give you some hints and other key points.

Hi Chris and welcome. You'll find loads of useful info on here but it can be a bit of a madhouse at times.
There are a few pickups on ebay/Van trader/etc - what part of the country are you in?

Re: Introduce your self...
Yeah ive been watching ebay for some time now, i think i need to save a few hundred pounds more before im in a position to buy to be honest. I'd started off looking at the older models aswell as the honda Actys but i think it would be more sensible to purchase a slightly newer one for parts availibility etc.

Buy a 98 to 2001 jobbie,
But later than 2001 is fine if the condition is ace.

Whats the difference between 98-01 and 01+ then?

Re: Introduce your self...
Thanks, I will start posting pictures in 7 days apparently! Here is the ebay item number- 121191744345 I turned up in good faith, checked for rot and it was actually very good underneath in the normal bad spots. Checked the header bottle, film of oil on the top, was going to walk away but he swore blind it wasn't overheating when he was driving his family around in it, so I took a punt and paid £500, didn't overheat the whole time it was ticking over and I was holding the revs, no bubbles etc. in the tank. Overheated 8 miles down the road instead. Top hose was collapsed, so I put a new cap and K-Sealed it anyway because I needed to get home 40 miles. Didn't overheat on the way back, will be doing the head gasket next week. To sum up - don't buy cheap cars from Ambrose Motor Company in Billingshurst, traditional used car salesman, would've happily let me pay full price for it, twat. Nevermind though, it was so much fun to drive before that happened I wasn't too bothered, £500, almost full service history, could've been worse.

Re: Introduce your self...
Doesn't look too bad in the photos. Typical silver one, the paint always falls off them.
If your doing the head, you need to find out where it was leaking water from.

Re: Introduce your self...
Hello PFM, you'll likely see me around. HighlyJetted, it was just spraying out of the bubbling overflow bottle. I'm just going to comp test it, new gasket, pump, skimmed head, new rad hoses and anything I think of while I'm there. Is there a definitive order on here somewhere? I think I was looking at a sticky earlier but I've gone into information meltdown. I'm not bothered about the bodywork, I'll strip that right back at some point, I think the kids have decided on it getting painted like a mexican sunset at the moment. I think it looks more like a guinea pig.

Re: Introduce your self...
I wish I'd just tested it with the rad cap before putting the k-seal in but I figured if there was oil in the coolant then the gasket must've gone and/or head warped and I was in a rush to get home.

Re: Introduce your self...
I missed that one - I'm looking for another 1.3 van, so am checking ebay, gumtree, friday-ad, etc etc though didn't see yours. Sounds like you know what you're doing though, and there's plenty of info covering what you might not know - much of it supplied by HJ, our resident guru. If you PM me your reg I'll be sure to spot you if I see you.
