I know its not quite a pic of a Hi-jet loaded up with wired and wonderful things. But if it counts it is Hi-jet wheels on the back. And it has been in the back of a hi-jet when it broke down

Nah, only kidding, did quite well actually. Made £365
Bought a wee quad when I was there though so the van was still pretty full on the way home.

random bit of info, but if what i read online was correct it is one of the last ones made. As Raleigh stopped making runabouts in feb 1971. And my little Raleigh was first registered in feb 1971.

Re: Hey whats in yer van today?
Only got a CBT at the moment. Not going to bother with a bike test for a few more years yet. As everything been changed. And i know if you take your test before you're 19 biggest you can ride is a 125, Yes you can take passengers and use motorways, But if i get the old Hi-jet fixed, I can use that for taking passengers and plodding steady away up the motorway

Unless it's changed you have a full moped licence when you have a full car one?

Re: Hey whats in yer van today?
I've heard that before. But unfortunately I don't have a car licence yet, but hopefully getting the Hi-jet running will give me good inspiration later this year. Only thing is my average fuel consumption will go down from about 100-120 MPG to about 60-70 MPG (I hear that what the diesels can achieve anyway)

Yeah, Well first plan was to get a rascal, But came across this diesel, Should just need a new head gasket, and another plan was to put a fan switch in the cab, Though i hear there is better ways round it. But its only a 1.2 so it can't be too bad on insurance (famous last words...)Logi wrote:

That was lost off the licence years ago
Re: Hey whats in yer van today?
You can ride a moped without L plates and without taking the full motorcycle test if either:
you have a car driving licence and a compulsory basic training (CBT) certificate
you passed your driving test before 1 February 2001
Re: Hey whats in yer van today?
Bummer. Didn't know that, though with all the changes it's not surprising. I'm due to start all this driver cpc pish for my HGV, absolute pain in the tits.

Re: Hey whats in yer van today?
Just a word of caution for anyone renewing there licence, If you have a full motorbike licence keep a record of it as the DVLA have been omitting to renew it and you will have to take a test to get it back. There was a cos of a motorcycle cop having his committed and even tho the chief constable wrote to the DVLA ha had to take a retest to get it back.

I will let you argue with them about that but incompetence springs to mind.

I once spent 5 months of back & forward with the knobends to get a Q plate removed from one of my bikes. They are honestly the biggest bunch of incompetent bellends I have ever dealt with.
It has been fairly well documented about the lost category thing, the DVLAssholes just wash their hands of it, the onus is on you to prove you had it.
Cos of all the different driving stuff I've done my licence is on file with a few companies so I have a backup, wouldn't want to risk the "Computer Says No" culture I've previously dealt with.
