engine management light

hello i have got my hijet runing it sound realy good but the engine managment light is flashing when i switch the ignition on it flashes and when it starts it flashes i was going to plug it in but no dianostic socket has any one got any ideas thank you

Hi the diagnostic socket is under the dash (under the glove box) and is a three pin socket as shown on the passenger door which youshort out as shown for timing and the light flashes the code which you can uncode with the manual but it should just be a historic code so disconect the battery for a few seconds and it should clear if not the decode it and see what the ecu thinks is wrong.
