Radio Wiring Empty Radio Wiring

Post by PFM Sun Jan 19, 2014 4:41 pm

My radio needs a switched live and a permanent one. I eventually found the switched supply (masking-taped to the cigar lighter cable) but can't easily see where to get the permanent feed from. On my '95 993 I took it from the headlight suppy under the fuse box but this is not there on the '08 1.3.

If I remove the fuse box, is there a tag on the ACC fuse I can use for this and maybe other things?

tap into the ignition barrel? Only a little further than the fuse box and all nicely labelled up

Look at the front fog light relay plug under the fuses, there is a permanent live there.

Doh! Just realised the ACC supply will go off when key removed!

Thanks, xx - that's a thought. Front fogs HJ? Never realised they were an option - I'll have a look for that plug.

You can just put a male spade onto some wire and push it into the front foglight relay socket.

Its a black or dark grey thing, about 50mm by 40mm, with 4 entry slots for the relay. One of the fat cables is a permanent live.
