tow bar wiring.. fun!
Right, tow bar fitted yesterday; easy enough job for 2 people to do.
had a good look at the electrics today (fit tomorrow) & have decided to strip the outer off right back almost to the socket (3-4" away) split (T) the wiring going Left & right, re-wrap each direction, thru the gromit in to side & up to rear lights & wire in there.
i dont want to cut wires under the van for 2 reasons.. 1) wires exposed to corrosion once cut.. even if you solder/heat shrink. 2) i really do not fancy another face full of dirt from under the van..!
doing things this way does mean the indicator buzzer will become unusable as thats wiring is only 4-6" long! TBH i ALWAYS check all lights are working before i pull any trailers!

It's a bit of an arse to get the wire through, don't use my name when swearing at it

I went in both sides at the bottom and hooked the wiring in at the back of the light clusters.

The sounder is a legal requirement you need that or an light indicator on the dash so if you have a tug it could get added on, saying that I ran for years without one and only fitted a sounder beacuse I was given one and I had some other wiring to do.
