Drainage plug gaskets?? Empty Drainage plug gaskets??

Post by stevelav Sun Nov 04, 2012 2:43 pm

I can't find an oil sump plug gasket, a diff drain plug gasket or a gear box drain plug gasket online?

What do you guys use something like locktite gasket maker or do you just have ones of the approx size or do you reuse the old ones?

Thanks
Stephen

They are usually copper washers which you can reuse if you have a leak you can carefully wrap the head end of the bolt with PTFE tape just make sure you don't get a loose bit inside.

Or walk into your local nuts n bolts engineering shop as they will carry copper washers in loads of metric sizes.
