Re: Project Ernie
That's a lovely bit of work HJ. Polished alloy looks so good but is quite time consuming even with the right tools-- but its worth it.!!

That's going to be one shiny power plant!
At this rate I can see the passenger seat being removed and some sort of viewing window in its place

Like that idea GT. Most entertaining. Double Glazed inspection panel and no passenger in the front.

Re: Project Ernie
Just finished for today, my dad has been over and we have re-plumbed the whole brake system to a different format, now with an in cab brake bias adjuster and all copper lines. Plus got the handbrake system up and running.
Re: Project Ernie
How many litres does that hold HJ ? Not gonna be easy
keeping that alloy shight and briny.

It does worry me though, part of me thinks letting it live outside is a no no!!

Re: Project Ernie
After all that work I would hope you would keep it garaged and mainly a fair weather friend too.
Cars and living on an Island surrounded by salt water
isn't too clever down here either.

Re: Project Ernie
I sold the head to someone who needed one for a 1.3.
Then the block sat on the floor of my garage for a few years.
Then I scrapped everything that was left, over the last 12 months.
I now have pretty much zero hijet bits kicking around, just a spare set of wheels and tyres for my Yamahatsu Die-jet
