Hijet pickup owner
After wanting a hijet for 10 years and watching the prices go through the roof I bit the bullet, spent 1500 quid on a hijet that had been off the road for 4 years. Drove 9 hours to get it. Did some brake work and got it tested. This money pit owes me about 2 grand now, but it's halfway decent at last.
Spec: 2001 1.3 pickup
Dropsides and hinges removed
Custom built ladder rack and relocated battery and spare wheel
Custom headlights as facelift headlights are rocking horse poo
Overload leaf removed from rear springs
Custom exhaust
Fresh timing belt
Looking to lay my hands on a 1.6 sportrak head next

Welcome, sounds like you have a good idea about what you're doing. It would be great to see some pics when you can post them.
