Scotland bound once again in the wee camper. Just passed over the new forth bridge, looking across at the old one and the railway bridge, quite a sight. 260miles done, 150 to go! Heading up to Nairn on East coast of Scotland near Inverness. Just worked out the first section of the journey, 230 miles at 47mpg! Steady 50 to 55 all the way.

I don't know what my 1300 MPV consumes at 50 on a long journey. I've never driven that slow to find out. lol!

Certainly beautiful scenery Raggy. Much nicer than even the Isle of Wight. Dunno about the climate comparisons though.

The climate for our first day is some what....moist! But then again we are in Scotland. Journey up wasn't bad but for those who have fitted an override switch for the fan make sure it can handle the load if you have it on for a while. Found out mine over the two years I have had it connected hasn't. It just stuck in the off position! Taking it apart found that the plastic leg from the rocker switch had melted at the end causing it to jam. A bit of filing and it was working again. I swapped it with the heated rear screen switch (same as one I had for the override) to be on safe side. Will have to sort out a relay when I get home to switch it (another electrical job for the list if you have read the 'facelift for Skylark' thread). Seems to be we don't have holidays in Skylark without something happening but that's the joys of owning one. Apart from that I can't complain, she did all that was asked of her and only twice had to drop to 4th for some longish drags where I was running out of speed.
Coffee is calling so will update thread later with some more pics to entice people away in their hijet.

Dolphin watching from the beach this afternoon, afraid phone camera does not really capture them well. Will try again with better camera next time.

Evening view on the Moray Firth after a bit of a damp and blustery day. Loch Ness bound tomorrow.

Today did not start well at all, trying to reverse on the camp site, I was trying not to churn tge wet grass up so forgot about the lamp post near me...bu###r! Manage to wipe my rubber wheel arch extensions off one side of the van. Unluckily an inch the other way and would have cleared it, inch the opposite way would have creased the side panels! So a possible luck escape. Just another job to fix when I return.
Once I had calmed down we ventured off to Lock Ness for a nice trip on a boat and a walk around the forests.

No disasters with the van today! Today was Lossimouth beach, a favourite of ours and an evening walk along Nairn beach.

Time for an update, weather has been rain, dry, wind, rain repeat! Been good though, visited Glen Moray distillery, wondered if Skylark would run on the waste spirit but dont think I would fit barrel in back!

The full route home. (It took longer than the 34min!)

After 1,100 miles we have made it back, Skylark performed superbly and faced all weathers. Cant believe that I made the mythical 51.62mpg on our section from Kinross to Washington services near Gateshead (202miles) Not calculated the last leg of the journey yet as need to fill up but do t think that will be far off.
Been a great holiday with Skylark despite the weather and little accidents (my fault). O wards to the next adventure.
