Hi
I have a leak around the washer bottle on my Porter. Which is the "easiest " way to get at it, from under the seat or from under the vehicle ?
Many thanks
Steve

If you lift your seat you have got your answer. :-)

Believe it or not, I have lifted the seat and looked  Shocked The washer bottle is tucked away and I cannot see where the fixings are as they are not readily viewable. My question was to save me further messing around and going straight for the correct solution!

Hi Steve. The bottle is held on with 3 10mm headed self tappers. Two at the top, one at the bottom.

The top two aren't easy to see and ideally you would be best with a 1/4" drive set. The top 2 are angled upwards. If you have a small mirror or mirror on a stick you can get an idea of what I mean. Once you have seen where they are placed it makes the job easier.
Bear in mind that you have the two connections to the motors which inevitably are rusted up and it can be easier to snip the hose close to the motor rather than risk breaking the connector trying to get the pipes off.

Don't be put off by the unavailability of spare parts available on line. I needed 2 new washer pumps and sealing grommets to get through the MOT test. I gave up after a fruitless search on the usual websites, the extortionate amount of money being asked by some suppliers for second hand parts is beyond a joke. I took my washer bottle to my local friendly parts shop and they gave me two universal washer pumps and new sealing grommets that were a perfect fit for £12 all in inc VAT.

Thanks, will keep in mind when I get it off. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to sort out.
