Re: Seems quiet round here...
Just finished digging a drain and slabbing my drive, now I feel 106
Had to weld a new tailpipe on the van too as the old one was rotten( think it fell off in protest after the ton bag incident )
Now i'm starting fitting a new kitchen :/

Re: Seems quiet round here...
I've been really busy running 10k's. Did one on the Bank Holiday Monday and another one last Sunday up in Doncaster. Got under 45 minutes in both!! I was up in Doncaster to visit family, especially my uncle. He's got cancer and it's terminal He's taking it incredibly well. He should see the year out but not much of the next. He's taking it day by day and making the most of what he's got. I really admire him for the attitude he's taking. I'll be spending more time in Donnie in the next few months... The last 3 days I've been back up that way at a conference in Hull.
I've got the weekend off! Nothing planned so just pottering about getting the weeds under control. Next weekend the Norfolk 50/100 bicycle ride is on (British Heart Foundation) so I've fetched my road bike out of the garage and I'm going to tackle the 100 miles next Sunday which is the day after my birthday which will be spent here http://www.dinosauradventure.co.uk/ with my 2 best mates and their little boys. The boys love dinosaurs so they can run riot while we sit on a picnic blanket with loads of food and talk nonsense. Apparently Dippy the dinosaur (a sort of Barney) will be giving me something memorable, which is a frightening prospect! Then I'm hoping to take the week off work to get over all of that but there's so much crap going on I might have to cancel my leave. I want to use the time to get a hole cut in the van for an electric socket and get the insulation in so I'm ready for the camping season. And I'm still renovating upstairs so I'm not short of things to do.
So, yeah, quiet before the storm

seems abit quiet..
Well im just chillin, went out for a short run over the sidlaw hills heading into angus this afternoon, blimey had to open the sun roof as the round yellow thing in the asky was out.First time out since aptil trip to sky... ,looking into repainting the jet, something brighter i think, gave some of the roof a rub earlier , now looks like a realy old van,( i think the vw folks call it THE RAT LOOK???)_ anyway its great to be doin nout much for a change, good luck with the cycle eva , remember to drink plenty fluids on the way round, and have a large drink when you finnish( alcohol of choice), . some of my friends and myself had done a similar thing last year in the cairmgorms for leukaemia research, great fun if the weather is kind....Happy motoring bones...

Yeah, rat look. I used to run with the VW crowd. Can't stand the rat look. You've gotta either do it up or leave it to rot - you can't inhabit both worlds. Grrrr What colour you looking to paint your wagon? I'm thinking of painting mine that amazing bright blue that some of the British Gas vans are. Fiat use a similar blue. I know some people who've had great success painting with rollers rather than spray painting. It takes several coats and quite a lot of rubbing down but I think it might be the solution for me.

Flip flops describe transistors in an electronic circuit. I'm wearing thongs. Essential piece of camping kit! I always wear them in public showers so I don't catch nasty foot diseases. My feet are in a state as they are!!!!
Besides, I'm NEVER going to win a beauty contest so I'm not too fussed about what I'm wearing.
I also never win bets so I wouldn't bother with a wager anyway.

My girlfriend went on a month holiday to Aus a couple of years back, she went out on a boat trip for a couple of days. As they sailed off from the land one of the tour guys said "strickly no thongs on deck!!", my missus wondered what sort of boat trip she'd signed up for

Is everyone Jubilee'd out? I managed to get a fence built at the front of my home and stick a flag on it. I have a Jubilee fence! The rest of the time I've been in hospital visiting my very poorly friend

Not much in the way of Jubilee celebrations up here
Though I did have the long weekend, maybe not a Royalist but deffo a hypocrite
Bought myself another toy at the weekend, this one needs even more work than the Jet....
Though the wee van was handy again as a lot of it came home in it( i'm picking up the shell and chassis toxay with the wagon
Also the kitchen is finally starting, i'm nearly finished one side, other wall to go and then I don't actually have a use for.the wee van anymore.....
