rear window heater

Switched on the rear window heater but no joy clearing the window. Switch lights up and there is continuity from one side of the window to the other and also screen wire to body of van. Any idea as to why it is not working.

Right the only thing you haven't mentioned is if you checked there was actually power to the screen you've check across the screen and the earth.

Hi Rich, when I put the tester on the connections it works on/off as per the screen switch in the cab. I have tested power incoming at the right hand side of the door, then across the screen and going back to the body at the left hand side of the door. Getting readings in conjunction with the cab switch.

The only thing I can think of then is the element is buggered and there is only one bar making the curcuit so no visable effect, you could try a resistance check across the screen via the terminals but then someone would need to do another on a working screen mine the power terminal has fallen off so doesn't work.
