1.3 MPV Brake Pipe Layout Drawing
Hi Thought I would start a seperate post for this just in case anybody is changing all the brake pipe / lines
Stared to replace all the brake pipes but ended cutting the pipes by the nuts on the "splitter " joints as they we rusted in or would not undo without excessive force
I made notes but want to be 100% Im correct so I dont mix the Pm & Pf brake lines
Has anybody got a drawing for all the lines
I looked in the manual and the only drawing was on page 884 in the Piaggio manual and its not that that detailed can anybody confirm its correct or have a detailed drawing

Re: 1.3 MPV Brake Pipe Layout Drawing
Anyone know where I can get part #3 from in this drawing? Seems to be a 5 way connector / junction box, but cant find one even close anywhere...

Number 3 is the LSPV (load sensing proportion valve) which is above the rear axle.
They are quite had to find good second hand ones, and I don't think there are any copy parts available.

You'll only get a secondhand #3 I'd say - but why do you need one?

All the connectors were siezed solid, and on removal one of them has stripped half of the internal thread - worried it wont do up tight again.
On blow testing it however, it seems 2 of the "ports" are connected, so a simple straight union connector would do - and the other 3 ports are connected, so a regular T connector should do the job if needs be for that.
Brake lines. What a pita with all the bends and twists!

Re: 1.3 MPV Brake Pipe Layout Drawing
It should fail an MOT if the LSPV is not present and functional.
Any half reasonable MOT tester knows that if there is only 1 brake flexible pipe to the rear axle, and also 2 pipes down the chassis then it must be a load balanced varied system.
If the spring arm or rod or valve are non functional then it should be a fail. as per 1.1.17 of the test hand book.
Defect Category
(a) Load sensing valve linkage defective Major
(b) Load sensing valve linkage obviously incorrectly adjusted Major
(c) Load sensing valve seized or inoperative and:
(i) ABS functioning Major
(ii) ABS not fitted or inoperative Dangerous
(d) Load sensing valve missing where fitted as standard Dangerous

Re: 1.3 MPV Brake Pipe Layout Drawing
Oh, some confusion. My apologies. I was not actually asking about the LSPV.
The part im talking about is at the front, under the front bumper, a splitter with 5 brake lines attached - is fed by 2 lines from the master cylinder (2001 / 1.3i) - follow the master cylinder 2 pipes down, into the connector which then splits 1 to the front left wheel, and then 2 to the rear LSPV.
I thought it was #3. If not then I have no idea how to find it - looked everywhere!

I think that block is more than just a union.
I can't remember for sure, but I think it has some ball bearings and springs inside it, like a type of regulation valve.

Think it is called BP (blend proportioning valve) it says not a serviceable item, so it says in the Suzuki manual

Re: 1.3 MPV Brake Pipe Layout Drawing
partnumber from indexed micro fish i posted in the manual section: 9004415002000
https://www.originparts.de/index.php?cl=search&searchparam=9004415002000
Dont know if its only a junction piece.
Price would suggest its doing more.
HJs post also suggestst that.
Its also called a 5 way "valve" in some descriptions i read.

Re: 1.3 MPV Brake Pipe Layout Drawing
Just for info for future searchers, a German friend says it translates to "5-way directional valve". There is also a similar valve, but a 3-way version under the drivers seat, to the right of the airbox, just behind / inside the front drivers side wheel well.
€55 euros! Yikes. Thanks for your help guys. The van may live again. I thought it was another one dead.
