Headlight housing removal Empty Headlight housing removal

I am having difficulty removing the headlight housing off my 993cc hijet. I have removed the turn light unit, undone the two screws on the sides of the headlight housing but it seems to be secured near the radiator side. Are there more screws or clips? How can I remove it without breaking it? tks.

If you are taking off the trim around the headlight (the grey bit in you avatar) then there is two clips on the edge nearest the radiator and you need to take the rad panel off and use a large flat lever to gently ease them off but don't be suprised if they are brittle and break off mine has a strip of duct tape to back the remains of the clips up.

Yep they are crap, but less prone to breaking if you warm them up like summer.

Using wd-40 with the straw attachment helps as well as it aids the pins to slip out of the receivers.

Thanks for the prompt reply, tried poking about to try to locate the clips but did not manage to remove them. I wanted to remove the headlight housings so that I can respray them easily but now that I'm aware that these clips might break easily I'll just musk the surrounding and spray it in place. thanks guys.

I got a pair off earlier this week and did not break any of them.

If you want to paint the head light housing take them off or it will be a crude job.

I will take a photo of the clips later when I get to work...
