Where's Woody. He's here !!!
Well what a B****y AWFUL year I have had since I fell down my stairs at the garage in early January tearing my thigh muscle in three places. I have been off work ever since unable to walk or drive the first two weeks and in real bad pain for months with only the Hi-Jet spares as income.
After around two months off work I was getting very stressed with the pain and a leg swollen up like an elephants leg by the end of each day and unable to work that the stress gave me Shingles for over two months then on Easter Monday Morning I woke up completely blind in my left eye.!!
Due to the stress my Blood Pressure was high and caused the Main Artery feeding the Eye to rupture and bleed into the Eye covering the retina in blood and loss of vision because of it. Went to the Optician next morning and was told that there was nothing that could be done but he would notify the Hospital and I should get an appointment in 5 to 10 days. Thankfully my right eye had perfect vision. 6 weeks later I got an appointment for three weeks later so a total of NINE & a HALF WEEKS later I got to see an eye specialist or 3 actually who said there was nothing they could do and only time would cure the problem with the eye gradually clearing the blood and my sight returning normally in 6 to 12 months.
With only one eye working properly and the other like looking through moving water it has made everything one does so much more difficult to accomplish. We certainly do take our sight and other senses for granted.
Thanks to Matt who has been putting most of his Hi-Jet email enquiries automatically through to me the Spares business has gone through the roof and for the past two months I have been working 16 --18 or even 20 hour days. Its the emails and replies and wrapping up the spares that takes so much of ones time then chasing 7 miles to the Post Office with small spares but THANK GOODNESS FOR CITY LINK24HR. They collect from me one day and mostly manage to deliver the next day. Superb service.
I am finding it very difficult to get hold of Hi-Jets now over here as I think I must have nearly wiped out the total Isle of Wights population of Hi-Jets.
I have found some stonking bargains though over the past few months ranging from £75 to £250. I picked up an 04 plate Extol van for £250 and what a gorgeous drive they are -- but ugly looking pigs. The Toyota engine has rattly small ends which is why it was cheap and I now cant be bothered to find and change the engine. It drives still but rattles the warmer it gets so I will advertise it for £350 as is on Wightbay unless any of you are interested in it. Bought an 01 plate van last week for £250 with TWO PERFECT HEADLIGHTS. It was worth it to me for just the headlights as I needed a pair for an 04 plate van I can now mot and sell.
I have sent spares to Tasmania, Malta, Italy The Channel Islands and enquiries from China and Japan of all places !!
I returned to work this week for the first time since January to do a four day very lucrative roofing job so definitely on the mend and my legs and arms strength are really picking up well now. I can now pick up and carry a Hi-Jet engine for the first time this year.
Anyway apologies to many of you for not getting back to you promptly or sending out spares very quickly too. But I have been in a very low and dark place this year and it has been VERY DIFFICULT COPING WITH ALL THE C**P that has come my way but at last coming out of it now.
I have barely looked at the Forum for months and haven't watched Telly for weeks on end. Its been get up at 6am off to work around 7-30 and home around 9 to 10 pm -- eat then on the laptop with emails and Paypal invoicing till 1am or even 2-45am one morning.
I am still on the hunt for Hi-Jets to keep many of you going and changing my ads on Wightbay certainly has made a difference --- have bought three vans in the last fortnight and have sold 3 vans in the past month too so lets hope I can still keep going on Hi-Jetting.
Regards to you all out there on the Forum WOODY.

Thanks Waz. It's been one hell of a year and I am not out of the woods yet.. More hospital visits and undignified tests in the coming weeks.
Had a visit last week for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and that was 100% OK.
Definitely in need of some serious Mot work on my rusting remains.

Oh Daisy. You should have contacted me last week end. I have sold the last two in my yard this week. One to a regular and one which I have yet to take out for a lovely lady in Birmingham.
As soon as I pick up another van I will save it for you. No worries if you can find one in the meantime as I have two more people wanting tanks but not Forum members so you get priority.
