And the job goes on, the stretch in the evenings is helping a lot. I tried my hand for the first time at applying the smoked window film, after many hours it is now resting in my rubbish bin and mention of that horrible stuff is banned in my hearing. I cut a bit of ply and painted it black and attached it to the rear window at the wardrobe side, job done.
I dont think that I am making as good a job as I could, I would keep the same basic design but would have given the rock and roll bed more height, I could have put removeable storage directly behind the front seats then. next time mabey

They're a bit faded and the clips are missing(though these are available from HJ)

Use HJ's trick of COARSE stainless wire wool and get all the grey powdered material off then my trick of using BOILED Linseed Oil to wipe all over and leave for a while then polish off.
The same goes for Door Mirrors especially. You can get them looking like new with these two methods. Same for bumper although not always such spectacular results if they are grey but black ones come up well.

Or, as I did, replace them with blingy alloy ones...

Yes I have got some alloy ones in my X reg Romahome and its got a blue lit dash and subtle blue cab lighting and alloy brake clutch and throttle pads too. Weird thing is that the bloke that put it all in was way older than me.   
Wonder why he didn't put a Big Bore Exhaust on too.

I have put those 5-5"/13" Five Spoke Alloys on now with 165/60/13" tyres and what a difference that makes to looks and handling on my MPV. Great fun!

Missed out on a couple of days work on the van as we had to visit the in-laws but got a good run at it today.
The frame at the side is now fully secured, the sink is plumbed in and the gas compartment is more or less done, it was some job to sort out the floor vent. Its not clear from the photos but I cut two ordinary roof slates to fit on top of the area where the sink and cooker are and pinned and glued a 90 degree bit of beading on the edges to dress it up a bit, I will put the second battery on the floor on top of the existing battery box and the water container goes to the right of that. The electric hook up is nearly done, I have to wire an rccb but I will let a Leccy take care of that. I was hoping to source a good used tap but they are as scarce as hen's teeth on this side of the pond.
Hoping for a bit of fine weather tomorrow to carry on the good work, I really envy you guys that have a proper shed to work in, I'd even settle for a proper lean to

I know its a bit late for you now Mike but I have been hunting for an item in one of my stores and have found an immaculate Zig Panel. I had forgotten about.

It has three fused 12 volt circuits with 4 appliances or circuits on each .( 12 in all) You can switch from charging to  Leisure Battery from the alternator whilst driving. Or mains charging the Leisure Battery from the Zig Panel which has a built in 12v charger, from a Mains Hookup. The hookup exterior socket and flap and the cabling is all with it.

If any of you are thinking of doing an excellent conversion like Mike has done then bear it in mind that I have this Zig Panel available for £50.
I have just remembered that I have a few new 12 volt Water Pumps for cold water supply available too. Got a few other caravan bits so I will have a sort out and make a list in the next few days.

Finally got around to digging in some more on my jetty.
Things came to a halt as I had to go away for a few days and then ended up with a flipping toothache that flattened me for a couple of more days.I made a bit of progress with finishing the side unit, door on shelves tidied up , I put in a frame that the gas tank base fits into that will stabilise but I will also put a strap on it. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I would hinge the door for the large opening at the back, I am tempted to hinge it at the bottom and fits drop straps to hold it at about 90 degrees, otherwise it will be side hinges but that limits me to getting access from one side only. I reckon that that will be for bedding only anyway. I dont think that its visible from the photos but I screwed the base of the cooker to the worktop, I used wing nuts underneath as a quick release so that I can turn it around and use it from the outside. I screwed guides onto the floor to guide the slide out section for the bed, also it would have been difficult to get at the jack in its usual position so I got a short length of pipe that the jack will slide into and will fit it at the rear passenger side so the it will come out from the top. I am just making things up as I go along, it seems to be going ok but I have an awful fear that I will forget to allow for something 

Excellent work! Looks like a professional job! Yes if I was you I would hinge that cupboard from the bottom and make it sturdy enough to be used as an additional work surface when its in the down position. It would be ideal for putting the plates on when you are serving food etc

I really, really hate the rain, I thought that I would get a good run at the van today but as its not under shelter the rain really messed things up. At least I have my sliding bed sorted and I fitted a door at the rear for storage and got an internal light in as well. All going well tomorrow I will be cutting foam for something comfy to sit/lie on.

That was really enjoyable as the weather was beautiful at the time.
I'm cutting cushions today for the jetty but I'm thinking about how to do the curtains, I will probably end up using that stretchy curtain wire threaded through the curtains at the top with another towards the bottom to keep the curtains back in place. I'm worried that I will have bunches of material in places around the van especially when the cooker is. Any suggestions would really be appreciated also if any one has any idea about how to do the  area around the windscreen.

i usedthe cheap curtain rail and hooks on a roll from b&q fitted with self tappers above windows the whole lengh of the van then used curtain wire tight at the bottoms of windows

Yeah, thats kinda the way I was thinking but I am a bit worried about having big bundles of material getting in the way in places. How did you gather the material in front to stop it interfering with the view out the windows.
