Re: Take a Brake
Large one with the two pipes cominng off Logo is your fuel pump. The small one on the left, the sender has three wires - one of which goes to earth on the tank and the other two into your loom.
It is basically a plastic tube with a float in it and a rheostat.

Re: Take a Brake
Well, fuel tank's back in, gauge working properly, and a FUEL LIGHT
Decided the previous problem with my gauge was the wee cap falling off the sender, it keeps the centre bit central, so to speak Without the cap the float sticks about 1/3 way down, no light, slow to rise when filled. So if anyone has similar symptoms I'd bet that's the problem.

Sound like the same problem as my Smurf has, but I'm blowed if I'm going to bother about it in these temperatures!

Yeah, popped it back on......
It's not the first time it's been out, I reckon it's had the tank recall done in the past and the sender problem started there.

Hmmmmm..... I only know if the prop shaft recall.
Didn't know about a fuel tank one. Anyone remember what the recall was about?

"Corrosion of the top of the fuel tank may result in a fuel leak."
VOSA website has the issue date as November 2003 but doesn't say what age vehicles may be affected.
