Brake Servo Empty Brake Servo

Post by eddie0303 Fri Sep 27, 2013 6:16 pm

Hi All , I have noticed a damp area around the ridge of the servo and although the van has not been on the road as yet , I wondered if they are also prone to servo leaks , I can see that the fluid is eating away at the paint affraid  so it has to be brake fluid although my fingers are crossed that its just a bit of over spill from when I topped up the reservoir . If the worst comes , are they difficult to replace and whats the best source of replacement ,and cost please . Hoping Matt or Woody may have a spare if needed . ( Fingers crossed ) . Sad

Cheers All

Brake master cylinders are prone to leaking. Sold 3 in the last couple of months - and I have non left at the moment.

Pretty easy job to change, just have to remove the dashboard.

Daihatsu want £800 for the master cylinder and servo assembly one customer told me!!!!!!

They also told me non of the motor factors could supply one.

You don't even have to remove the dash either Wink

I guess not actually come to think about it.

I've always had the dash removed to strip everything out before I removed the master cylinder.

Changed mine in the old van, its fiddly bit doable, hardest part is reconnecting the reservoir hoses.
