Bilston mate. Small world aye it,lol
So far have been doing it my self an our kids been helping but our work patterns are clashing and I'm working away a lot so may have to bite the bullet.
Would be nice to find an unused garage where I could work out of the elements.

I've been offered one in Coseley where I work but 120 a month is bit steep, needs to be twice the size so I can store a couple of caravans to help pay the rent.

Was thinking of renting a couple of council garages and knocking em thru.they go for about 7 quid a week.

Hi Simmo and StvC , I used to live near your part of the world ( Ironbridge ) until I moved north and I often travel down there to see my daughter , so maybe a future meet up to be had .
As for renting a lock up there should be plenty around there to choose from or even sub let , I pay about £ 40 a week for mine but its quite big . I know quite a few people in your area from my last job so I will keep an ear open for you . The lack of electric is not that much of a problem really , you can buy an oldish Honda 2.5 Kw genny off Ebay for about £80 now.
Best of luck with the vans , and all the best
Eddie

That's the truth right there, its why nothing ever gets fixed on most of them.
That along with they are owned by inexperience have a go repair men, who have no idea what they are working on.
Some of them even call themselves mechanics.

We all have to start somewhere Matt , but with people like you and others sharing their knowledge , the projects will be completed successfully or you gain more spares , win win situation

Re: hi jet experienced mechanic
fitted the new water pump but as its slightly different(bleed nipple) have to get some longer hose from work. at least will give silicon on gaskets time to cure. oh and timing belt might be one tooth out max. will this be bad news.?

Re: hi jet experienced mechanic
the pump with the longer spout is no longer available I went through that and the bodge that cures it as for a tooth out it will run like a dog that has one front leg tied to the opersite side back one.
Re: hi jet experienced mechanic
I'll see how it runs first hopefully it's ok as I've put it all back together. Was fine until I 're tensioned the belt. Thing is I marked the tooth and belt but not the casing until I undone it so when I put it back together it was one tooth out from casing mark if that makes sense. Lol

Re: hi jet experienced mechanic
It'll run one tooth out but as rich says you'll lose a load of power and fuel economy and never be right. Put it on correctly, that's why we have timing marks.
Re: hi jet experienced mechanic
Ok so I put the water pump hose mod on and put everything back as it should. Jacked up the back.put it in gear and the back wheel spun freely no clucking or knocking sound. So I started her up.
Fired first time. But after about 30 seconds the revs were unresponsive and sounded rougher than a bears arse.so my guess the timing is out. Fortunately my brother is going to sort it the weekend.
