head gasket
Hi has anyone done a head gasket change on the 993 EFI? I normally do a head gasket without needing anyother gaskets = a bit of fire gum and hermatite are there any other must have bits?

Re: head gasket
If the last head gasket has failed (e.g. pointing at heat issues), I would remove the radiator for a complete wash out and inspection, and I tend to pressure test them with compressed air. Likewise I'd check/replace the water pump and the thermostat. I would also closely inspect the head and probally get it pressure tested and skimmed if needed.
I always clean the sump out while i'm taking things to bits, makes the oil stay proper clean. Call me anal but I clean everything I remove with gunkoff, then steam clean it all, and dry it off with compressed air/heat.
Gasket wise I buy a full head set and change all the gaskets it includes, except for the valve stem oil seals unless required. Same time I would also replace dizzy cap and rotor arm, plugs, new coolant and oil.
For the record I've never done a 993cc hijet.
