Hi me and my partner just bought our selfs a wee hijet 1000 looks and thinks it's a VW camper.
Had it it's first run and sleepover found a few issues
1. Think it's heavy on the fuel
2. Oil leek not pissing out but a small patch underneath
3. Not the best performance only does 50mph
Apart from that really happy and we love the van any advise or tips would be really appreciated
Cheers

the oil leak: you can give it a good clean and than you should be able to see were it comes from

Mines a 993 and can get 60 no problem out of mine but rarely do, life at 50-55 is fine, not thrashing it. Currently getting about 37mpg to and from work on motorway etc (about a 10 mile trip on way), on long steady runs its been up to 43mpg (no where near the 50mpg they usually advertise these little vans doing). As fo oil leak, as Scotia says, a good clean underneath, cardboard on the floor and see where its dropping from, maybe a driveshaft seal?
As usual lets have some pics so we can see what we are all talking about Very Happy

Hi guys aye a need to get underneath it and have a good look at it. But due to the Scottish summer weather not had a chance yet only got it Thursday Smile
1. How do you up load photos on this forum? Using iphone so I can get pics up?
Lol defo does not look like that one more a cheap spray job and a few well placed VW badges
Just got some chip board to remake door trims warped and customise them to go with my vision for the van.
Have panel experience just no mechanical.
First thing I did was fill up water in the radiator not overheating thankfully as a have seen loads about this issue.

Dont use chip board! Use ply or as I did mdf but I made sure it was sealed ect before I used it. Ply definately the best option.

Ah now photos, may be an issue from an iphone, tablets and computers seem Ok (ok we all know Woodie has an issue with this technicaly Razz ) I thought I could do this from a phone untill they upgraded it but I think others still find an issue. Maybe someone can update us on what the photo upload works on.

When I upload photos I:
email the pics to myself
then save them on my computer (on the desktop for example)
then I click the icon with a picture and a floppy disk in the new post prompt
then select the picture from my files
then click to upload the picture
then select and copy the code with [img] in front of it
And then paste it in the new post prompt

When I write it down it looks complicated but it's pretty straightforward really

If you do an advanced search in here (top menu) I'm sure there has been a topic on here before about how to seal them.
Try this LINK but there are others covering the same subject.
