Use your mobile phone when doing jobs on your Hi-Jet.

Elfin Girl posed a question in the Workshop Section on Friday 27 November.  She was asking how to remove a headlight.  Logi kindly posted a "how to do it"  reply.

I have suggested to everyone that when you are doing ANY job that you have never done before then secondly USE  YOUR MOBILE PHONE EVERY TIME TO TAKE A STEP  BY STEP RECORD OF DISMANTLING IT.
First step is as Elfin Girl has done is if you are not sure - -  then ask particularly if you don't have access to a workshop manual. Even with a workshop manual, it is not always clear, so don't be afraid to ask on here. You may get a bit of leg  pulling but we're all big enough to take ( and give) a bit of micky taking. That's what brings this Forum to life over and above ANY OTHER FORUM ON HI-JETS.  Some of the other sites  I have  visited, are in my opinion a bunch of Anorak clad Nerdy, sad Muppets.

Z5?? No and I don't blame you. How are you getting on with it. Are you loving it? I am going to replace the three Sony Z3Dual Sim 6633 phones I have, with Charging Case an Puck, with Z5's Premium model which are about £650 each at the moment , but will wait until they come down in price a bit in the New Year.
I couldn't get the Dual Sim models direct from Sony so I had to buy all three phones from Mobi City in Manchester. I will never use that crowd of Cowboys again.
In the end to get my third phone, a white one for my wife, out of them after two months of wrangling with them and being told a pack of lies, I had to get on to Barclays to reverse the Card Payment to get my money back, when suddenly they came up with a White phone and charging case and puck.
The battery life on these phones is absolutely amazing, lasting me 2 to 3 days on my main phone and around 6to 7 days on the other phone.
Looking forward to getting a Z5 Dual Sim but as they aren't available from Sony Direct I have got to hunt around for another supplier. I use Mobile Fun for all my phone accessories but untill recently they didnt sell phones but are now doing the Z5 for as low as £404.
I have just emailed David the boss to see if he can get me three Z5 Dual Sim phones. Fingers and legs crossed.
And yes like you I keep another cheap Android phone for the picture taking at work. Can't afford to damage my Z3's at over £500 each.

You were, paying £90 for an iPhone. I bought one last year, an almost new 4 for £160 on the 3 network to keep in the glove box for emergencies ie: if I should happen to forget to pick up my phones.
It was the biggest - well technically the smallest load of garbage I have ever bought. In the end I put it on my work bench and dispatched it with a hammer. Utterly awful piece of unfathomable junk.

Similar idea to me Logi. I bought a Bluetooth speaker that clips on a sun visor or take it around the workshop - upstairs or down stairs and it is voice activated.
I got it from Mobile Fun for £20. (They are a fantastic company and superb service. I have only once returned anything to them, because I didn't like them, and they were Bluetooth Speakers oddly enough) .

I can also play my music off the phone on it whilst in the Vans or Cars. I have a huge pair of Bluetooth speakers at the garage for my Google Music. Can't be doing without our boys toys Elfin Girl, eh Logi??

Just to go totally over the top, I bought a matching Sony 3 Smartwatch in February to use in conjunction with my Z3 phones.

I just couldn't get the hang of it( now there's a surprise for you all) so chucked it in my bedside drawer. Then in July my son came over from the Mainland for the weekend with my beloved grandchildren. He asked to see it and set it all up for me. Now I wear it every time I go out other than to work. It's great. I was in a friend house last Tuesday and had left my phones in the Hi-Jet outside in the road, when the phone started buzzing on my wrist. It was my wife (comes up with the complete Avatar too) so I knew I didnt have to expend excess energy and time going out to get my phone at that moment.

Very useful function. Love it now that I am finding my way around it. I have a choice of dozens of different watch faces too at the swipe of a finger, BBC news bulletins,weather forecast, blood pressure monitor,and lots more including music - but can't quite see the point of that as it has to be played through the phone, although thinking about it I have a Cyrus Sound Can which I have used it with the Watch and gives an amazing amount and quality of sound. Yep, more toys Elfin Girl. What is the point of being retired if I can't enjoy the fruits of 50 years of damn hard work. I think that I do deserve it.
I have worked virtually 35 year's since I started my Garage business for 7 days a week and very rarely have a holiday.

I don't know how many years I have left to live now so I am trying to take things easier and buying work and play gadgets gives me the enjoyment I deserve. I still love helping people out and there are MANY Forum members that I haven't charged for spares and just charged postage only, sometimes not even charging postage. Tight, I certainly ain't. Sarcastic, acerbic and intolerant I certainly am though.
