For sale - 2003 S85 1.3 blue Daihatsu Hijet - Chorley, Lancashire

Main info:

- 1.3 S85 EFI petrol panel van
- Just under 75k on the clock but still in daily use
- 4 good tyres, silver wheel trims included
- First time starter
- Charging system good
- New heavy duty battery last year
- Stereo with SD card slot
- 4 speakers - 2 in front and two at the rear - one n/s/f is blown
- Cooling system works and has not been bypassed or modded - never overheated even in hour long traffic jams on a summer's day
- All lights work
- Fan works on all settings
- Windscreen wipers work
- Washer jet works
- Doesn't burn oil - has had two oil and filter changes in the last year but is probably due another
- Air filter changed last year - air filter box partly damaged where bolts fit in and is partially secured with heavy duty cable ties
- Both seatbelts in good order
- Both windows wind up and down
- Gearbox and engine both good
- Brakes working fine, likely to need new pads soon.
- Handbrake fine.

- MOT due 26th March
- Previous MOT passed with one advisory for corrosion on fuel line.

- Issues with both sliding doors
- Exhaust tailpipe needs welding or replacing
- Speedo sometimes sticks between 45mph and 60mph - always comes back down when reducing speed
- Fuel gauge sticks at a quarter tank and is slow to respond to refuelling
- Some bodywork damage to n/s/f which has been painted in to stop rust - bodywork is generally good - has unique mosaic artwork in vinyl stickers and some signs of fading from previous owners decals
- Both wing mirrors slightly loose - o/s generally good except in high winds on motorway, n/s fixing is split - both currently secured with tape

Sensible man. A good Hi-Jet is a great asset. It is just like a good woman. If you have a good one hang on to her.

I keep getting rid of Hi-Jets and finding new ones. You would think that my wife would take the hint - - but no such luck.

Okay, so this might be available now as an MOT failure.
The main description is still mostly correct but since that post the brake pads and discs have been replaced and still in v good condition. Both wing mirrors have been replaced with non-hijet ones but they don't wobble like the original ones did. Sliding doors open and close okay and the handles are working. Mileage is now approx 85K - has had two oil/filter changes since last year.

Failed MOT on cracked n/s leaf spring and leaf spring suspension mounting areas excessively corroded o/s and n/s.

I'm deciding whether to keep it and get the jobs done or get shut. If anyone is interested in this as a project or to break send me a message.
