power steering  Empty power steering

Hi

I have a open back Suzuki Carry, and the eps light has come on.Can i still drive the van and can anybody tell me if it is a expensive job?

Thats a bit like asking how long is a piece of string that is in my pocket.

I can tell you that its quite a simple electronic system.

And with some experience targeted diagnostics it will be easily solved.

ok. so it is electronic and would anybody know where to locate the eps

On your average EPS system there is:-

A motor on the steering rack.
A sensor on the rack
A sensor on the steering column
Some form of EPS ecu stashed somewhere

The EPS ecu is connected to a pin on your OBD2 port so the error codes can be reset and retrieved using a specialist scanner - not a common cheap OBD2 scanner though.

I had that problem on the wifes Agilia,
turned out the battery was duff,with
the old battery the light stayed on for
about 10 minutes before it went out
