Thinking of swapping my 993cc power plant, for a 1300cc, would like something with a bit more umph, am i to assume as most hijet's are made of the same chassis, a 1300 engine would fit straight in??? and would it fit onto my existing gearbox?? also are the 1300's 4 cylinder??

The 1300 efi is a 4 cylinder, but it doesn't have much oomph. No
I don't know about the engine mounts, gearbox or electrics. confused
Might be more trouble than it's worth. Smile

I can imagine it hasn't got that much more oomph, not looking for record breaking acceleration or land speed record Laughing, but at least another 300cc has gotta be somewhat better, especially on long distance runs, some in depth investigation would certainly be needed first. I would imagine the electrics would be the same, albeit the alternator and battery would have to be bigger, as the engine would be using more charge being 4 cylinder.

And don't forget the ignition including the ECU which may mean changes to the wiring loom as for the battery and alternator I would be supprised if they are much different for running but may need a little more umph for starting with more weight to turn over.

Just been comparing the 1.3 hijet porter and 993 manuals found in the manual section, and the gearbox and clutch's are exactly the same, so they should work, but can't seem to find the section on engine mounts?? Mad
