WARNING - Door Mirrors
I've not had to adjust my n/s door mirror in ages - probably years - and so it got very stiff on the pivot ball. No problem....until I gently brushed against a wall while parking ( I park there 10-12 times a week!) and instead of the mirror moving, the bracket broke. So be warned, keep an eye on your mirrors!
P.S. Does anyone have a spare n/s mirror - even a broken one I could have the bracket from?

Re: WARNING - Door Mirrors
Yes I do, I have a passenger side mirror and bracket. The ball is still stiff and good to adjust, lense has 2 cracks and some welding splatter but perfect for your purposes.
Re: WARNING - Door Mirrors
Looks spot-on. Was going to try repairing mine, but you've saved be an hour or so of drilling, glueing, and giving in! Much appreciated.

Re: WARNING - Door Mirrors
HJ - many thanks for the mirror which arrived yesterday.
Interestingly I was reading in the current issue of Practical Clasics the other day that the Mazda MX5 door mirror is prone to the same problem - maybe other vehciles are affected too.

Re: WARNING - Door Mirrors
Speaking of MX-5's, you can pick them up for next to nothing nowadays.
I saw one for sale the other day in dark metallic green, 1800cc, 80k kilometers on the clock, new roof, stainless exhaust, Jap spec with an LSD, looked really tidy with decent tyres and brakes etc - £550 - I nearly just bought it but y'know, I'd be pushing my luck with her.

Your mirrors stick?!
I'm always having to readjust mine, especially if I'm driving into the wind!

Then tighten the phillips-headed screw a little - you can see it in the pic above.

Hehe, yeah, that would work! Think I'll leave them a little loose, people seem to like knocking them when they park up don't want them getting broken!
