Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
Started to build a Hijet related site at http://www.daihatsuhijet.co.uk/
If anyone has any content, articles or anything they'd like to add speak up.
Spec lists, interesting pictures etc would all be most appreciated.
Hopefully it will help bring in more members to the forum and maybe tempt in some future owners.

Weak excuse, everyone finds time to do what they really want to do.

You might need to change the name as 'Daihatsu Hijet Owners Club' seems to already be in use.

Re: Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
I can't find anything?! Post up some links dude Emmabskin has a blog setup with those keywords in it but it has no content really, nor is it a non profit group. They are a parts dealer which sort of stretches the idea of a "club"
This right here - this forum is THE "club"
As you have noticed I have nicked the manuals and stuff, plus I have found some more technical reference stuff which I need to upload.
Hope a proper well SEO'd website with keywords a plenty and images with keywords etc will bring in some new members to this forum, when I signed up I was user number 6 I think, now there's almost 400. It might make a 1000 one day, and we could have a stand at some shows and do a few big camping meets etc. This site i'm working on might look a bit basic but its pretty well structured as google would see it, keywords in the domain, key words in the page titles etc, it has an XML sitemap, linked to facebook and has an RSS feed.

Looks a nice website mate
Only suggestion is to set up a 'Know your Jet' section, where people can submit articles on how to carry out various tasks (Engine change, checking oil, battery location etc)

Quite so but her blog site does have that name plastered right across the top so you are risking an argument and/or confusion as to which site is which. Since she used the name first it might be more politic for you to choose another.

Thanks, and good suggestion, just started work on that bit, aka "Hijet Wisdom"
Looks like there will be "welding your Jet", "Overheating Hijet?", "My electrics have stopped working" needed
Bushwacker, there are more Honda Civic Owners clubs that you can shake a stick at, and anyway, I have linked to her site so she should be happy.
Re: Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
I'll do a few articles for you, it's surprising how many people don't know how to check oil etc

Re: Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
That would be amazing Stevie, there is now a fully working area for users to create accounts to submit articles etc, its very straightforward and all additions would be most appreciated. If you have trouble please post back because I want to make it as easy as possible and know where people trip up so to speak.
Ideas for some articles might be:-
overheating woes
MOT time
camping trips
camper conversions
buying a hijet
where to find a hijet
you get the idea
And too keep at peace will all, it is now titled "Daihatsu Hijet Owners Site"

I'm trying to find page EF19 from the CB42 manual which is missing from the one on the forum
If anyone has it I'd love a copy of this page or the whole job lot

Re: Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
You like?
I've just scanned 3 more brocures and about to put them on the site, bit more current than the other stuff. 2000, 2001 and 1995.
Has the sales info on the LPG versions and MPV

Re: Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
Are you sure that is actually a 2000 brochure?
Some old Parker's price guides I have indicate that the changeover from 1 litre to 1.3 litre powerplants was in 1998.
I also have a brochure that looks identical to your 2001 version. Although there is no year prominently shown there is a code in the binding area that seems to imply 2000.
Just a little niggle and probably not very important in the grand scheme of things but I did wonder.

I'll look into this later, just on my way out but I'd like to get things as right as possible
Re: Anyone want to help build a hijet website?
I will have a look at what brochures etc I have too ..
Also I took a lot of pics when putting the romahome pod onto the Hijet truck... did you want me to try and do a from start to finish write up?
On the site I notice the camper pics you have up are probably Romahome pods too .. not Bambi ones as you say .. They look very much like romahome markings . The pods may of originally been on Bedford Bambi's which is where the mix up has come from.

That would be amazing, I know nothing about these camper hijets/rascals etc, but I wanted to include them on the site as they are an important adaptation of the micro van. If you could write anything, or just pictures, whatever really would be fully appreciated, used on the site and I'll give you full credit for your efforts, if you want that is!

On this note, I studied all my brocures but couldn't find any dates on any of them
