Anybody know where I could get one of those VW look-a-like front panels from ?
I think they look the dogs danglies when right, and that's what I'm wanting to do to mine (when I get one) .

Re: VW Front Panel
Do you want the bad news or the goods news....
Well to cheer you up, the good news is they are really cool!
And now for the bomb, the only place I think you'll source that kit from is:-
http://www.calstage.jp/order_flow.html and a few other places over there,
or you can deal with these guys who can do the importing for you:-
http://www.algysautos.com/
If you read this page you can find a bit of info about other people in your boat:-

Hope this helps in a not so hopeful way

Re: VW Front Panel
P.S. If you went hunting for a pre converted Subaru Sambar you'd make your life much easier.
Re: VW Front Panel
Cheers mate. It was just an idea I had floating about in my head to make the van (when I get one ) look even more eye catching and fun to own. It was only the front panel that I would've wanted anyway, as I would imagine a full kit would be plenty of spondoolies (£££).
Will give that Algys a ring and see what they say.
As for buying a Sambar 600cc ready converted, that's too much money for me, and the 1200cc versions are even more .
It's going to be a work van, just wanted it to be a bit more different than it already is........ an eye catching mobile advert .
I get crazy ideas like this now'n'again, I'll grow-up one day .

Re: VW Front Panel
I haven't looked into it but do they do one for the Hijet as the front panel comes off to get to the rad, what I have read on the net is they hook on the windscreen wipers mount and some pop rivets or screws to hold the bottom on.
Re: VW Front Panel
Good thinking. I didn't think about the access for the rad .
Never mind then. It was only an idea, and my ideas usualy end up costing me big money anyway .

Re: VW Front Panel
Anything is possible just needs a bit of thinking but unless you have a panel to look at I dought you would work it out I know I wouldn't but have been know to stare at stuff in shops then go home and think of a way to make it work.
Re: VW Front Panel
I'm not so sure they do them for the hijet. I've looked at loads of sites in various languages but no hijet version.
Any links or photos of a hijet sporting a dub nose?

Re: VW Front Panel
I think thats a DIY custom jobbie - the fiberglass resin finnish looks bumpy and the curved inwards bit that follows the strip on the door looks poor.
The proper ones are nice and smooth and they look like they belong there.
In Japan, the kei car laws make our type vans popular. Original campers are pretty much imposible to own there due to emissions and taxation, thus the market is strong for camper van clones.

Cheers for the replies.
I've gone off the idea now anyway.
These vans are eye catching enough anyway .
PS. And it will save me a right old few spondoolies .
