Re: Other Vehicles?
why not get one of the better MR2s?
either a Mk1 or a Mk2?
faster, better handling, better looking, and more fun than the Mk3 MR2.....
oh, and you dont look like a gay hairdresser!

Re: Other Vehicles?
haha :p
however, I personally like vehicles that are a little more practical than an MR2 :p
currently have a Saab 9-3
modified a bit (and constantly tweaking bits), for better handling, more power, and less torque steer!

Re: Other Vehicles?
A Saab 9-3 don't loose the torque steer it's the only way they make it around corners loverly and fast but the ten minutes I drove one nearly had me asleep.

Boo, I loved your old T-Bar, it was a beauty... but I'm sure I'd love to take this new one for a burn
Do they still have the engine in the wrong hole?
Mk1 MR2's are much better than this shiny new one, the rust makes them lighter

yes, they are a bit boring and suffer from body roll (especially the back end)
but, mine has twin rear ARBs (2 standards piggybacked) to really tighten the back end up
its quite neutral handling now (instead of the standard understeer for miles :p), but will lift off oversteer quite nicely
and the torque steer can be tamed easily!
the problem with them, is the bulkhead flexes where the steering rack is mounted, causing torque steer AND camber steer.....
a simple support bar to stop the flexing, and a harder clamp for the other side of the rack, and it will reduce the torque steer by 50~75%.....
I will agree though, that standard they are a little boring to drive due to the body roll, torque steer and poor handling......
but with the few modifications.....its a different car......
oh and 250hp is easy to get.....
bigger turbo and 400hp+

Teddy tank pillion is optional extra he has his paws covering his eyes..
Early May this yr was on a ride out with mates, all on bigger bikes K1s/Busas etc, i know them well & know if i ride with them.. its going to be a hard/fast day & i need to be on my toes the whole time. often get home knakered! .. a new chap to the group rides a GSXR750, walks up to me before the ride starts & says i bet your going to hold us up being on that bike...! i just smiled sweetly & said yeah sorry .......
within the first 5 miles i overtook him as he would not overtake a car doing 40 in a 60 ! that woke him up! the rest of the ride he got in my way several times as he couldnt filter/overtake or corner.. but he did make his sad point blatting past me on straights!
1st bike shop we got to as part of the ride, he was bitching to a mate.. mate tells him to take it up with me.. i over heard him & just told him "snooz & ya loose"...
end of the ride he comes up to me & says that my bike (not the rider!) surprised him, he thought they went slower to which i just told him he was a shit rider! shite corners, no confidence on overtakes or filtering & that i can clearly see he hasnt been riding long! when ya been riding for at LEAST 5 years.. come back & chat to me.. and i walked off.. all my mates still take the piss out of him.... a 400 overtook him.. lol
those who know me well.. know i dont hang about & i know what my bike can/cant do. They also know that i dont tend to stick to the rules!

Re: Other Vehicles?
other stuff.....
pug 106 diesel daily runaround...
PICTURE MISSING!
ax vtr weekend death trap....
cb250rs - ratted, road legal - good for a laugh....
gsx600 - ratted, road legal - good for near death experiences. Similar to the above story in terms of piss taking when its first seen, followed by silence when whoever it was taking the piss catches up when weve got to wherever we were going. Also gets more attention than the row of shiny sports bikes at the local bike meet.......
honda 90 - ratted, road legal, cb100 front end - good for getting pulled and explaining to coppers what a daytime mot is and that no i wouldnt be that stupid to ride it unless it was fully legal......

Re: Other Vehicles?
That rear mud guard on the gsx600 look like a death trap!! Someone might end up impaled on that thing
There are other colours available other than matt black so I'm told.
Get the chalk out on the AX and let the kids use it as a chalk board
I like all the 1990's french boxes, but to me it has to be a 205, or a 106.

Actually, it wasnt that bad - it was better than the hardtail that i owned previously. I had to make a concession with the GSX though and add the foam kneeling pad after i went to the bulldog bash on it and pissed blood all weekend. Cant ride either now as ive got a problem with one of the disks in my lower back, again - drag bars, hardtails, solid seats etc all played a part in that! Makes me laugh when people go on about uncomfy car seats - i think after that anything with a pad will be fine.

AAHGGGHHHHH - sacrilage man, everyone knows you only apply matt black paint with a two inch brush - anything less is just for posers, and a rattle can will get you hung!!!
HighlyJetted wrote:That rear mud guard on the gsx600 look like a death trap!! Someone might end up impaled on that thing
Yes, maybe - although i haven't had that many people able to stay that close. Either way, it wont be my problem...
HighlyJetted wrote:There are other colours available other than matt black so I'm told.
Yes, ive heard good things about olive drab and desert yellow......

Well ive got the 106 diesel, but the ax is much lighter and quicker, esp with the VTR motor. Ive also got the twin cam VTS motor sat in the garage that will drop straight in when this one goes bang....
Re: Other Vehicles?
good ol Nik, he lives 2 villages over from me, known him for as long as i have been riding.. 10+ yrs. met him broken down in a local petrol station on Changeling.
lol.. pondered arranging a hijet get together next year.. but i think several of us will just come on bikes instead! still a worthy idea which i'll look at when i have 5 mins to fart

Re: Other Vehicles?
Changeling - broken down.... Cant believe it, unheard of..............
Well i'd be in the AX or the hijet if ive found one by then - as mentioned cant ride now coz of my back. Even if i get a comfy bike (which i dont want to coz i dont like the look of them) i cant pull it anywhere, and if i ever dropped it i'd be waiting for someone else to pick it up!
Be up for a camping weekend somewhere though.....

wow....look at the 'lamps' on that
but am I the only one, wondering what else she could do with that axe?
seriously though, a hijet meetup could be fun
except I havent got a hijet any more!
it would either be a Saab 9-3 or a CBR600F :p

Tax is though - looking for one a bit older to get the cheaper tax, dont see why i should pay £100 extra for the privelige of driving a newer van..........
