850cc s70 front shocks

Hi. I recently bought a 1984 daihatsu s70 pickup. It needs new front shocks and it's proving extremely difficult to find any. Some advice from the wise people on this forum would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know of any information that may help me track some down? My thinking is that they weren't unique to this car, so surely daihatsu and other companies used the same shocks on many cars.
I've learnt they were made by kyb, but after that the info dries up. Many thanks if anyone can help.

Finding any anywhere on the other hand is a different game altogether.

You'll probably end up cutting the tops off and putting in some bilstein inserts or something.

Hi. Many many thanks for that. Are the tokico s1114 front shocks? I may have found a supplier but I'm not sure what the part number refers to.

I have no idea, they are just what the KYB number crossed over to.

Youre right. I thought I'd found some but they're out of stock, and obviously never coming back. Could you explain what you mean by cut the tops off and put some bilstien inserts in? It's looking like I'm going to have to think laterally about this.
