850cc Hijet. worth out?

Hello all, I've come across a possibility to buy an 850 diahaust, But are they worth anything?
In other words, is it worth buying, and i'm guessing there imports, And any other information?
I've got till tomorrow to make a decision.

well I've got to throw a offer in by sunday, its been stud for a year, and just going off photos what would you recon?

Whats it worth in scrap? then as much as you can haggle down in effort to get it home i would say. Without any providence of being MOT worthy that's all you can go by in real terms. What needs doing, looks a bit rusty around the bottom. Does the engine run etc?

PS...I would buy it as love the low cal look if lowered

You have got to be an idiot if you didn't buy that. You should have taken both his arms off the moment you saw it.
I haven't seen one that tidy EVER.
A mate of mine had a saying : "Fools rush in---- and grab the best seats." And he always did and got the bargains. I do the same and occasionally come unstuck.
But hell man you can always sell it again even if you make a loss-- what the heck. Put it down to experience this time.

Well to update you all. By the time I got round to replying to a guy (who was talking to the guy who owned it, I think he was picking up bits for a Bedford CF)
It was too late I think, might try to get back to him and find out. I need a toy since I'm 100% hijet-less. Sold of our 1.3 with some spares (its going in a play apparently.)

So do I Toaseman. Several Grand Moves and my departed friend Stans Toyota Yaris Verso, left to me in his will. Great economical runabout. Same engine fitted in the Extol Van so I don't feel too much of a traitor.
Shame about the Red Van though. Looked really cool.

well I got a number, so I might inquire, its a fair way off, but I hear there is a webpage where companys bid to move your motors. so it might be an idea.
Oh, I'm a complete traitor mk4 1995 ford fiesta (though it had about same spec as a hijet. (windy windows, manual stearing, Now ABS )

its not car that made me thinking, its getting windged at for buying a motor when they are trying to make room. Still, one hijet gone, room for another I guess (though they might not see it that way)

I've got number off guy, he's only around on sundays and Mondays, so i'll give him a bell, and see how cheap I can go.

Ok, so quick update. I've called him up.
its in good knick, runs, solid enough, straight little van, with low miles.
He's looking about twice as much as what I was wanting to pay.
So again, if it was you guys, what would you say she's worth?

As we don't know what you're willing to pay ? Could be that you're willing to pay £3k, so no. It wouldn't be worth six grand...... What's the asking price?

Best to only pay what you're happy with. Price is subjective, I've never seen another of that age that isn't posh rotten so my happy price is high but for others scarcity is a curse of impossible to find parts and unappreciative buyers when selling. Post the asking price and gauge from people's views then

Oh come on PFM. £300?? Even I being Mr Tightwad would value it good bit higher than that.
Not saying I would BUY it but if it's as good as it looks an 850 in that nick will be a very desirable, collectable classic in the future.

it and how much you can afford.

I have got an immaculate N Reg Island reg Van which is still Mot'd with 70,000 on the clock and I reckon that would make £850 on your side of the water. It is certainly a classic example for the future.
