Cam belt change 1.0i

Does anyone know how to lock the engine in place on hijet 1.0i. I have tried nut and bolting it in place and bolt through the starter motor. However the bolt that I'm trying to remove it so tight that it keeps turning the engine over. I can't change the belt as there is a plastic cover over the pulley. Currently have the head off the engine aswell. Any advise would be great, thanks
