Fault codes Empty Fault codes

Post by xxemaphorr Sat Mar 26, 2016 8:21 pm

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help with identifying the cause of fault codes. My first van had no OBD but this one has one and the codes read:

P0130 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 1)
and P0133 Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank1, Sensor1)

Has anyone had any experience with these codes? Which lambda sensor is it?

Does anyone know if the sensors are the same on the early 1.3's and the late ones? I have a working van I could swap bits with to diagnose.

You need to replace the sensor in the exhaust manifold.

Ok I'll try that. Universal one ok and change the plug? Looking at it would appear that the rocker cover gasket is leaking directly onto it so that has perhaps killed it?

I have used decent universal ones with success many times.

Leaky rocker gasket is a common fault, usually with ones which have been tinkered with.

Universal Lamda Sensor's come with bare wires so yes a crimp job or solder the wires and heat shrink sheathing.
I buy Lamda Sensors for (1) wire £11.70, (2) wires £12.25, (3) wires £21.90 and (4) wires £23.95 all plus vat.
Gives you an idea of what you may have to pay.

I'm a sucker for decent branded ones, such as Denso or Bosch, as they actually manufacture them, unlike all the other companies that stick their names on ones from China. I am such a parts snob!

It pays in the long run to buy quality anything. You get what you pay for. But you and I both know that nine times out of ten, yes the customer inevitably wants it done as cheap as possible and no amount of explaining will change their mind.
Usually with Hi-Jet Owners, because they have reached the end of the road and want to get shot of their once pride and joy. Either that or we end up fitting another new cheapo part in 15 months time.

Thanks for your replies chaps. I'll go with a decent one if I can. I'm only fixing the car up for sale but I've never sold on a lemon and I don't intend to with this one!

I have a shopping list of other little bits I need. I know there are breakers on ebay but I'd prefer to buy from here if possible:

* I need a fan temp switch as this one has been butchered. It is a later lpg van (coil packs on each cylinder). Am I right in thinking there are two types of these?
* Passenger side brake caliper, preferably with no bleed screw in so I can put a new one in.
* Front washer pump
* Rear wash/wipe switch
* long shot - lpg tank strap!

Anyone still keeping hijet bits?
