Smart Car seats Empty Smart Car seats

Post by Raggy Sun Mar 13, 2016 11:53 pm

Now I have some Smart car seats to fit in tbe van just wondering if its worth the bother removing the seat belt guides as my seats are from a LHD they are now on the wrong side (in any case they would have been in the wrong position anyway for me). Anyone with Smart seatz removed them and if so, an easy job or just not worth the effort to do it?

I keep considering doing that, every time I go to look for something in the back and bash my head on them.

Couldnt wait, so just for you Logi I attacked the plastic surround to see what was holing it on. Was hoping for a couple of spot welds...no chance. See below, you are faced with two fillet welds to remove. Think best way is to cut near to it then use my small cutting disk (from a Demel) to attack the weld...carefully! Will update restoration thread when I have done, definately at the weekend.

I cut mine off with the angle grinder.

But I tucked some bits of old denim jeans into the fabric to stop grinder rash.

Mine were smooth after.
