Yeah I do believe its M12X1.25 as I measured mine a few weeks back with the intention of fitting an 8 ball

Re: Thread Type / Size on Gear knob
Surprising really, 1.25 is unusual on M12, standard would be 1.5- 1.75, depending on application? Can't check mine as i sawed the thread off when i fitted the aftermarket knob.

Hang about.
I've been somewhere round here before.
Double check it isn't an imperial thread size.
Something like 1/2 or 7/16 or 9/16 UNF
I've had this before, where I've gone hunting for a rare metric tap - e.g. seatbelt bolts! - only to find they are imperial.

Correct me if I am wrong but I understood that the Japanese used imperial long before they converted to metric.

Re: Thread Type / Size on Gear knob
Certain things are still cut to imperial threads though, like seat belt mounting bolts.
Also our Hijets are made in Italy, so you would expect metric everything.

Hi,
Yes it is the M12 x 1.25 - Thanks for the help. I will post a picture soon of the new gear knob I'm having machined.
