Engine model Empty Engine model

Post by Penny PP Fri Dec 05, 2014 7:06 pm

Hoping someone can help me with a seemingly dumb question :-0 I'm trying to local a part for my Piaggio Porter that is on a '57 plate with a 1300 engine. Thought I would try those online breakers but the first one asks make etc then when it comes to engine size the drop down box has 9 different options for a 1.3 :-0 Holy Cow !!!!! How am I to find out which one I have...I just get in it and drive :-0 it's 1300 & uses unleaded fuel. I know its not the 4x4 option. The log book just says 1300cc engine.
Anyone know where I would find out ?..

It has a HC-E

Same in all of them from 1996 ish though to 2012 ish?

The only differences are the ignition system/coil packs, and the inlet manifold has an EGR on the post 2001 models.

You can use any age engine in any van, you just have to swap a few little bits about.

When  Penny called  me  last night she used her Christian name  which kind of threw me but this morning have put  two and two  together and actually come up with four  so excuse my post about  which part you needed this morning.  Plus when you  called at 7pm I was still working on a job for a customer replacing a totally rotten floor in a Chalet. Have also had two days  roofing  work prior to that and was in agony with my Arthritis and this morning I feel  like an old man.  Shut up Waz.  I don't need your reminders!!  Razz Razz

http://www.micksgarage.com/quick-search/cars.aspx?vrm=SF57%20GBU Thanks HJ this is the link to the page. I put in the reg but it didn't want to know...said it only recognises uk plates :-0 funny that !!! So using the drop down boxes it gives 9 options for 1300 engine sizes :-0

Doesn't seem to be a very good site.

It did take my registration number but then asked whether it was a bus or a van. Grr, it is supposed to know!

Trying it for 1300 with no reg it gave 7 bodywork options and several engine options only one of which was 1.3 so on that basis it looks straightforward. Just choose body type with the correct registration / production date range.

Either pick:-

1.3i 167v 1295cc if yours in the HC-E engine (check CC's on your v5c document)

or

1.3 (72hp 1308cc) if it is the non Daihatsu engined model - check cc's on v5c

I didn't know about the 1308cc engine - who made it? Wonder which one I have - my V5C says 1300cc but engine No. starts HC, so I guess it's the 1295

My v5 says 1300 too. That was the first place I looked before posting on here. I shall try trawling the net more today to try to locate this part. Gotta be one out there somewhere

Please take a photo of what the engine looks like from under the passenger seat.

I'll tell you what you've got!

What part are you actually after?

Nearside front hub assembly Matt. I haven't got one on the shelf and can't strip one off a van without causing myself logistical problems moving vans in the yard.
