Re: imoberliser problem
Didn't think there was any kind of immobilizer on them, but I have never seen one on a 2008 plate.
Does it even turn over on the key?

Re: imoberliser problem
No immobilizer on my '08 Porter. Did the 'auto electrician' not manage to find the fault codes?

Re: imoberliser problem
Hi Guys
the imoberlise was instaled by the company who converted the van (now gone bust )the van does not start or fire up from the key it did befor just after the new engine was put in ,the auto electricion did'nt mention the codes and by the way he did'nt come back after his first visit.

Re: imoberliser problem
When you say "converted" what do you mean? LPG? camper conversion? etc
If you are sure it is the immobilser i would remove it. Other than that, find out what make and model the immobilser (should be a label of some sort on the unit itself or do you have any paperwork?) and contact the manufacturer to see if they can help.

Re: imoberliser problem
It's not uncommon for aftermarket immobilisers to go faulty to be honest.

Do you think it would be posible to remove it and get the engine runing again or will it have to be decoded sort of

Re: imoberliser problem
they normally just cut and splice into the loom by the starter key, cut it all out and re join the wires, simple

You will probaly have to unwrap the wiring loom in places to find out exactly what has been spliced or interupted etc but once you can see where all the joins are it should be self explanatry as the wires are colour coded so it will just be a case of rejoining the red wire to the red wire and the blue wire to the blue wire for example. Anything that has been spliced in can obviously be cut out.
