installing a radio
today i plan to make a angling mount to allow a radio to fit my hi jet, i cant find a center console like the one pictured which i guess was a optional extra so want to make a mount so the radio will fit in the original hole in the dash
so plan to make a angled mount like this

Just bought the one in the top pic from eBay . A good bet would be a radio or cb mount, these are normally for land rover defenders etc, you can use as is or mod to get the angle of the second pic

yeah, i'll be making one from MDF and carpeting it to look nice
can you put a pic on of the console when its installed please?

Did you know that some mechless headunits fit without the need for the centre console or angled piece?

Don't think there's any 'Pre-outs' on those mechless units...
Got 3 sets of pre-outs on mine for separate amps, subs and decent speakers .

usually cheap Chinese HU's tho, i want a good stereo with CD but most of all, USB as i keep all my music on a flash drive

it fits, just need to carpet it now so it blends in to the dash, also mount it..the flat at the top will be for a power outlet and auxiliary switches

getting there with it still need to make brackets to fix it to the center dash
cut the bottom half of the dash off where the ash try and power/lighter would of been, will mount the power/lighter in the new radio mount, and since i don't smoke, theirs no need for a ash tray
the cable ties are temporary
