Pick up Radio Speakers
Has anybody used any other type of radio speaker rather than door speakers in a pick up, there is not a lot of room, 2 of my pick ups have door speakers and forever getting kicked/damaged so rather not go down that route if I can help it on the 3rd, Im not after loud music just want a radio that I can here,

Re: Pick up Radio Speakers
could you fit a set in the dash itself?
or on the roof above your head (maybe in the centre stacked)
no matter what, I dare say with a bit of thought, anything is possible

Re: Pick up Radio Speakers
Hello,
Not sure if the pick-up cab is the same as the panel van, but this is where the speakers are on my hijet. They were put in this rather nicely upholstered box by the previous owner. It seems to work very well as a concept. I think it's ply with automotive carpet glued to it.

Thats a good idea.
only thing I would recommend is to make sure there is room for your left leg.
Being a big, tall lad that would have been uncomfortable....

Speakers
Both good points
As they have lower headroom there may be room over the fixed headrests (motorcycle speakers?) the seats don't slide back so leg room for a box that size may be a problem.......but a smaller lower box may do,
will get the cardboard and scissors out at the week end and make some boxes, see if I kick or head but them to death

Re: Pick up Radio Speakers
The only other place I wondered is under the seats....
but not necessarily using car speakers...
you can get ultra slimline speakers for laptops and mp3 players.
about 8" long and 1~1.5" high.
should work nicely
and you could get 4 (or more depending on how many you want and how many your radio can power)
just remember, you can double them up (so 2 speakers to one channel)
1 under each seat, and 1 at the top back edge of the roof, behind the seats.
should be enough sound
