Daihatsu Hijet/Piaggio Porter Parts Help

Hi everyone

I have just joined the forum to ask a couple of questions and I hope someone on here will be able to help me
I want to know if Parts from Italy are the same for UK Vehicles or which Parts are the same or can be used, I have already contact Piaggio UK and they are unsure so I wondered if someone on here will be able to clarity and give me the correct information.

ok I have a Daihatsu Hijet 1.3 16v Y registered 2001 Panel Van and I am looking for any parts which are the same between vehicles in Italy and the UK

Yeah they are the same, obviously parts from Italy will be for left hand drive vehicles though so bear that in mind.

so apart from the Headlights pattern all other parts are exactly the same ?

most parts are the same i would think
only things like headlights/dashboard/ are different because of lhd/rhd

the piaggio porter is just a rebadged hijet so most porter parts will fit.
i order my parts with piaggio..because daihatsu doesnt seem to be verry helpfull
and the parts have to come from japan what takes an eternity.

and obviously stuff like dashboard, steering rack etc. Apart from that, as far as i know its all the same, are there any parts in particular that you are wondering about?

ok can you please send me website links to where I can buy Parts from, Piaggio UK don't have parts for this model only scooters, mopeds etc

Just to be picky, it's the other way round - S85 Hijets were made by Piaggio and badged Daihatsu.   

And the drivers door is different....

floorpan, front panel are different, radiator is on the the other side so pipe work should be different, most parts that are available from ex Piaggio dealers, subaru and Isuzu dealers as they have got accounts to i motors Birmingham
