new project
Well must be mad but bought a large kids kitchen unit with storage today and with a lick of paint and some adjustments to the height for cooker and sink I will be testing my diy skills on attempting to fit this into my van by fitting my cooker sink and anything else I need into this unit.I will be attempting to do this according to height needed for cooking etc so will post pics when I achieve my goal lol might be a while.Am I mad or what opinions would be appreciated and no offence will be taken haha.I will post a pic when I know how to of the unit before.xx

Neat idea, I look forward to seeing the pics. You should use an easy bake oven

Re: new project
that seem great debz, think a small cooker and a stainless dog water bowl will fit nice and room under for a small dumpy gas bottle

Re: new project
Taking out the toy cooker hob ans sink part adding my own sink and cooker.gas and water bottles will fit in cupboards below and removing 2 shelves above and applying stainless steel sheeting for heat purposes and also building a platform to sit unit n for extra height so hopefully it goes as planned .

Re: new project
It's actually not as small as it looks in the pic but my partner thought I was going mad when I ask him to pick it up from charity shop but now sees the picture when I explained my idea.not too bad for £30,my next ventures making a bed so not sure of layout yet will wait and see.also got my van on the road job st to sort out insurance now and tax it and I'm happy.

Re: new project
Nice starting point! You should be able to sell that rack which is in the back i would of thought, that will help fund the project a little bit
Take a look at the "Rock and Roll" style beds, some one on here has made one for their camper conversion. Was it you singledad?

Re: new project
I was having a look at them quite expensive to buy and I was gonna try and make a L shaped one with pull out bit for mattress and a guy on gumtree offered me caravan cushions cheap enough to make a bed only need to cut them to size so might give it a go.Do you think anyone would even use that cage it's a bit of a pain be ok if it was bigger use that as a bed haha.FrontBackSide2Side wrote:Nice starting point! Re: new project
Your links havent worked for some reason.
Heres the link to the thread with the rock and roll bed, looks quite easy to make out of plywood, i think ive showed you this thread before:
https://hijet.forumotion.com/t2217-camper-conversion
An L shaped bed sounds cool though if you have the room
As for the rack, a couple of people on here have them and reckon they are really useful so yeah i reckon potentially someone may buy it. Put it in the for sale section and see if you have any interest, its free
