Propshaft staked universal joint replacement.

Hi to all,

Propshaft off vehicle, UJ's removed now need to source a replacement.

The Bearing caps measure 24mm across, does any one know of a source or the dimensions of the UJ I need.........reason for asking is they had to be cut out with a grinder and not much left to measure now   

Its not the smaller 22mm universal joint as used with circlips as I had one of thse too hand.

Any help welcome   

Think Woody sourced replacement joints if i remember correctly?

Did you try for a warranty shaft?

My van is a Piaggio Porter with the staked joints so I dont think its covered on the recall.

Update - Old UJ'sw out of the prop, after much measuring and part number matching and sourcing I have found some bearings, ordered them just now for a mere £18 for the pair delivered.

I had sourced the original bearings but was not willing to pay inflated prices of £30-35.

Photos have been taken of bearing removal, will take photos of bearing replacement and staking them in and post pics up with details for other people once done   

How will you stake them in with accuracy?

All going well insert Spider, slide in bearing caps, measure depth of bearing caps with a dial gauge, hammer and drift and pleen over the metal.
Above is theoretical

Don't pean it a mm too much or you'll clamp the UJ.

Dont pean it enough and it will rattle itself to bits.

And if you dont get it bob centre it'll shake itself to bits.
