I am Stori from Pakistan! I bought a daihatsu Hijet 2009 Van! Its a 660 cc automatic transmission vehicle! I am facing some problem and seek your technical guidance in this regard! the fuel consumption is very high! It gives around 10 kmpl in semi urban! I changed the spark plugs, air filter and tuned the engine! But still no change in the mileage!

Welcome, Stori. It's equivalent to about 28mpg. Small engine with autobox - what do you think you should get?

The rivals claim 16 to 18 Kilometers per liter. How could I check fuel leak?

Re: Hijet 660 CC High Fuel Consumption
Aha, I was thinking MPG, Apologies.
I suppose it could be a number of things:
Tyre Pressure
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Coil
HT Leads
Worn Timing Belt

Re: Hijet 660 CC High Fuel Consumption
Well your getting 29.7mpg
Which is really not bad if you live in a hilly area and you carry a load.
But if its empty and flat, then it is poor.
I would look at:-
Is the cam timing correct
Is the ignition timing correct
Is the ignition system in good condition
Is it using all of its gears - does it make it to the overdrive gear.
Are the brakes not binding.
Are the tyres correctly inflated.
