1.3 efi LPG Won't Start

The Hijet has been getting progressively harder to start from Cold. Now it won't start at all. Just turns over. There is spark and petrol. I always start from cold on petrol but it won't start on either. Is there any common places to start?

Check the battery, change the plugs, then HT leads, then the rotor.

Batteries fully charged and it turns over fine. Checked plugs and they seem fine and spark. I may change them anyhow to be sure, It started fine once warm (when it did start from cold). Seems strange how its progressively got harder to start over about a month.

HT leads. they do break down in time. i got a set from local car shop for reasonable money

Just because you get a spark at the plug when you tested that, doesnt mean that its enough to start and run...

change the plugs, the ht leads and the rotor and then go from there...
And make sure the plug gap is correct...

The fact that its been getting worse over a period of time points to something wearing out...

I can't remember what it is called but there is a little ceramic box thingy near the coil in a cage thingy, That on mine had a crack in it and although we couldn't see it until it got alot worse it did have exactly the same starting problem as yours. I replaced that and never had any problems since!.

That sounds like an HT Lead suppressor to stop interference...

Had some spare time yesterday so had all the plugs out. On testing 2 were dead, 1 was way out on resistance and the other was OK. Quick trip to Eurocarparts, £4 later and it starts like a dream. Will prob change the Leads too as resistance values are a bit off but can't find anyone non Gen that supplies them and I hate to think what Daihatsu will want for them when a little exhaust gasket is £15.
