Re: Wheel bearing
Hi, and welcome to the site.
Just had a quick look at the Japarts website and they seem to agree you should have disc brakes! There were a few things that Daihatsu chopped and changed around that time. You might have to have a word with a dealer (suggest Womoco if you're in the UK)

Re: Wheel bearing
That could explain why you have a different spec. If you get numbers off the old bearings you should be able to obtain replacements from a bearing supplier, much cheaper than the dealer or a parts supplier.

That's what I'd do!
Parts databases are a bit hit and miss. Computer says Nooooo
Re: Wheel bearing
Dug a little further. Mick's Garage lists front shoes for 1986-1989 Hijets (QH NO. BS 872) but no wheel bearings for that age range. It's not impossible that this set-up was continued in some markets later than in the UK, so if those shoes are the same as yours, you know what period your front hubs date from.
Is yours carb or EFI?

Re: Wheel bearing
Thanks for the info, some details of van carb, points, no servo, 4 gears, 1000cc,
chassis no jda00s85v00067541. Very confusing as they seem to have used front end from earlier model.
