Hi All!
A while back my tail pipe decided that it could not live with my back box any more
and headed off into the wide blue yonder. The MOT runs out shortly,so a frantic
search was undertaken for a replacement-what a joke!!! The only source I could
find was a main dealer & as you will have guessed, he wanted a lot more than I
was prepared to pay!! Then I had a stroke of luck- I spoke to Brendan (Starsky &
Hutch Van) and he suggested that I contact an outfit based in Salisbury, called
MANIFLOW (tel: 01722 335378). I took the'jet over & they made me up a very
nice tail pipe in stainless & welded it onto the backbox, all for about a quarter of
the dealer's price for a replacement....result or what!!!!
So, if you are in the Southern area & have a similar problem, or indeed any
other exhaust problems, give 'em a bell, they will be able to help.
Special thanks to Brendan for the tip-off,and for being a top 'jetter!!

i had no probs finding one for mine 4 months ago.
googling "hijet exhausts" on .co.uk found a site that sells cat or back box for £50 + vat.
i found mine from another company at a little cheaper.

google works wonders, trust me.

Talking of spare parts LP have you checked out the scrap yard up your way the one with the orange car hanging on a crane near wild tracks? The only decent yard I know that keeps older stuff is Kirbys and thats 40 miles away near southend.

i have several breakers in my neck of the woods.
there are 2 near wild tracks but only one visible from the A11.
yup went in when i was looking to buy a whole van + been back for bits. sadly they dont have my van about.
Nor do the rest of them in my area.
the ONLY guy i can get bits from is a chap who buys these vans and sells them to Nigerians for export.
i have bought a full set of rear seats/carpets for my van £50. they were brans new as well!
got a rear windscreen security grill + those weird shaped U rubber floor mats. £5

for exhausts and quite a few other bits its handy to have a welder I have a big backbox exhaust on my escort but its no louder than stock just a deeper note now has a 3 box system instead of 2, I've been keeping a look out at other more common cars to see where I can steal spares from!

The tail pipe was missing when I got Poprivet, so all I did was get a piece of mild steel tubing split the end into four and folded it out to 90 degrees and then welded it on the box - took about 5 mins and cost about 25p in materials - a lot easier and cheaper than a new exhaust!!
