Re: Hijet on 17's
well I finally found some slightly smaller wheels to go on the old girl from a mazda rx7; anyone spot them on ebay?. 8bitash's pics have inspired some lowering so going to get started on that soon....

I was sure no-one would have spotted them! a little pricey but they are rare and in great condition. Just need to convince all those <15" hijetters out there!

Re: Hijet on 17's
I've been tempted by some 17's and 18's, Mostly the price of low profile tyres puts me off. And big rims tend to have a large J measurement
I have very very slight rubbing issues on pretty much stock tyre sizes when doing tight turns with a bit of lean on the van. And that scares me a lot as the bottoms of the front arch could easily slice though the tyre.
For looks though, big rims + hijet = awesome!!

there's no avoiding your logic. It's a challenge! I used to drive a 40mile round trip to work everyday on the 17s and they very rarely rubbed but I did have to do some chopping. The 15's are wider but with a much more practical offset for the front wheels. Just need some wider arches

To me:- Practicality > Style
Thing is I just love hammering it down bouncy little country lanes at unsafe speeds and the sound of screaming tyres makes me moist. I used to lower cars and stuff, now I just wear out tyres for cheap kicks.
