What's your thoughts?????
I have this idea to make a jet pick-up into a articulated vehicle. My plan is to modify the cab to look more of that of an artic truck and add a fifth wheel on the back. Then build a custom mini flat bed trailer for it. The lad that is helping to rebuild my tuk tuk is well up for the challenge and thinks it shouldn't be too hard to do! (He normally builds trikes but thinks this could be fun!).
What do you lot think??????
I have fallen for these little beasties hook, line and sinker!.
Trying to get my wifey to agree to get rid of the car and get a Jet!. Wish me luck!!.

That would be wicked, i'd love to see that project progress. Very neat idea!
The trailor would have to be under 600kg unbraked or do your calculations for a braked trailor, I think its 80% of the kerb weight but I'd check the law on that! You could alter the pedal box and build in a secondary master cylinder for a proper trailor hook up.
A Mini ar-tic would be a proper head turner.

Unbraked would be fine as it's only gonna be for show. Just need to find a good pick-up as a base. Still got loadsa bits left over from the last Jet we stripped.
Re: What's your thoughts?????
It's finding a small fifth wheel for on the back that might be a struggle!!!

Make one, Get a nice peice of steel plate and cut it with the torch, then dress it up. Build a latching mechanism with sme sort of sliding pin in some nylon bushes.
If you want bits machining I've got a laythe and a miller, also got a bandsaw and a prope sized turbo mig

If its only for show and you don't need a quick release coupling then all you need is a UJ out of a drive shaft and a bearing and housing such as the bottom of a front macpherson strut lay it on it side and put the UJ on top some bolts and Bobs your friends aunts long lost niece

I think that would be really good !. Many years ago, ' Truck ' magazine did that with a Ford Transit. They added another rear axle to make it look like an American rig. it was called 'The little big-rig'. Don't know whatever happened to it though.

I have found a mini 5th wheel on ebay that is perfect!!. I am going to add extra wheels to make it twin wheel, not twin axle due to space. I have found a rough Jet pickup to use but just arguing over the price!. Looks like it's gonna happen!!.
Wish me luck!!.
